Foursquarian Candidate

During the mayoral race in the city of Chicago, we created a designated “mayoral headquarters” location people could check into using the popular mobile application, foursquare. On foursquare, the person who checks into a location most becomes the “mayor” of that location. So the person who was the “mayor” of our location would become the Foursquarian Candidate for the real mayor’s office in Chicago, winning campaign materials from our agency.

There were thousands of check-ins with the winner checking in almost 800 times. The Foursquarian Candidate was covered by over 300 media outlets, including news stories, podcasts, segments on morning talk shows and the evening news, and even earning kudos from the founder of foursquare.
